Holly's Maternity/Hampton Roads Maternity Session

I was so flattered when Holly and David asked me to photograph Holly's maternity session.  Sam photographed their wedding a few years ago and they have become friends ever since then.  Holly and David are the sweetest and funniest couple and I know that they will be perfect parents to the little boy they are expecting very soon!  I loved that Holly was open to my suggestions for what I envisioned her maternity session to be like.  I bought some fabulous fabrics and we had fun incorporating them into the posing.  And even though it was a really chilly day, we had beautiful afternoon light and we all ventured into the woods at the end of the session.  I really wanted to use Holly's natural beauty to enhance my vision of a woman in her full bloom of maternity.  I think she was perfect!  Check back in a few weeks for little J's debut on the blog as his newborn session will be in the next couple of weeks.

Family Session: Maymont at Richmond

I was super excited to travel up to Richmond to do this family session in August.  To me, Richmond offers a lot of interesting places for portrait sessions.  The urban scene is much bigger than in Norfolk and being next to the James River is a bonus.  But, I have to say, that Maymont is my favorite!  It's so peaceful and there are so many nooks and crannies to explore.  I hope the people of Richmond know how lucky they are to have such a beautiful place to hang out.  :)  Corrie and Frank have two adorable girls.  And look at Corrie, she is so gorgeous and full of energy and vivaciousness.  Even though it was a very sticky day, and we did a lot of walking up and down the hills, I almost don't want to admit how easy this session was.  This was one photogenic family!  - Terri
